Disney World Florida was honestly a dream come true. It’s all I could think and talk about for weeks on end. It was my first ever trip to Orlando and we went from 21st September – 1st October (Arrived home 2nd October)
I’m just going to jump straight in.
The night before we went, my partner had booked us a small hotel within Gatwick airport called Yotel. We didn’t fancy going through rush hour the next morning with our heavy suitcases, so it was very convenient!
The flight was nice and easy (coming from a nervous flyer) and I watched all the freebie movies to get me excited.
Upon arrival to Orlando, we were a little bit worried because we were not able to book transfers through our agent. They told us it was too late of notice. It actually worked out for the better because if you are staying in one of the 25 Disney Resort hotels you get free transfers directly to your hotel any way. The bus company is called Disneys Magical Express. We were staying in Disneys Coronado Springs, so it was perfect!
When we got to the hotel it was around 6pm so we decided to eat dinner and explore the grounds. We actually ended up standing and looking in the lake for crocodiles..I don’t know why we were or what we would of done if we did see one.. haha! After dinner, jet lag soon set in and we both called it a night.
Officially Day 1 – Magic Kingdom
Jet lag had officially set in and we woke up around 3.30am. We decided to wait around until 6am, get ready and go for breakfast. Just in time for the sunrise! (A little tip: If you can, buy the cup in the picture above if you stay in a Disney hotel. You get as much refills as you want during your time there and it was only $20 I think. You can’t use it at the parks but at my hotel a medium Sprite was around $3 each time. You get your moneys worth.)
After breakfast we went straight to the Magic Kingdom using the free transportation and got there just in time to see the opening ceremony.
Honestly when I entered that park I nearly cried. I couldn’t actually believe I was there. You can call me silly if you want but it was a dream come true.
There was no one in the park this early surprisingly so we just went straight to Tomorrow Land and jumped on all the rides that I wasn’t too scared to ride (because I am an embarrassing ride wuss just fyi) I didn’t really take any photos while there. I was too busy enjoying myself! I did buy some new Minnie ears though, as I feel like it’s a tradition!
For the evening we went over to the Boardwalk for dinner. We got the free transport to Hollywood studios and took a boat from there.
I had heard it was an underrated place and not many people knew about it. So we got off and explored first before going to the restaurant.
It was an amazing first day and by this point I couldn’t believe it was over. It went so quickly. Next up, was Epcot.
Stay tuned for part two of my adventure to Disney which will be posted next Sunday at 6pm.
