A NEW LOOK

Switzerland

Photo from my recent trip to Switzerland (blog post coming soon!)

Hello everyone and welcome to the new version of Lets Go Somewhere Else. Shall we call it version 2020 to go with the New Year? Perhaps LGSE2020?  A lot has changed and I’ve dealt with some issues too which were causing the site and your viewing experience to go downhill.

So what exactly has changed?

For starters, you can now see who I am, what I aim to achieve with this blog and what’s in it for you. I’ve changed my about me and as you can see, my face is to your right! Hi! (mobile users, this might not be the case for you!).  I believe you couldn’t even see my face before, which impacts how you view my blog and the level of trust you have for me.  I hope this will now change for you.

Another thing that has changed is obviously the layout. There was some drama with the first layout I had, apparently the creators had worked in some code in to the frame work and that gave them the ability to shut down my site at a press of a button… Yikes! This resulted in me panic-buying a new layout which was branded as “flashy” and “too Instagram” by people who I asked for feedback from. I have to say, I whole heartedly agree. Hence, the switch up! I’m not the biggest fan of Instagram actually so I decided to make it more bloggy and I have to say, I am much happier with this one.

I’ve removed the Instagram previewer at the bottom too, but all of my social media handles are on the top left if you want to follow me there.

I’ve brought back the logo.

Yes, the logo I commissioned a while ago from my long-time friend Paige (click here to see her work) is back out. My past layout didn’t allow me to use it but I’m super happy with it and regretful I didn’t use it sooner. If you could pop a summary of me in to a logo, this would be it. Paige created it based on how she sees my blog, so it is super lovely. I hope you like it as much as me!

Font Size

The past layout really was a demon but it was reviewed that my font was too small and was putting people off reading my blog, a lot. I agree! I’ve now made this bigger and more accessible to those who need it.

A new section

I’m not sure if you’ve seen but I’ve got a new section up top! Journaling! It’s another really big passion of mine and I actually travel journal, so I thought I could cover it on here. There will be tips and tricks for how to keep one, as well as general imagery if you wanted to have a nose.

I am also aiming to cover a lot more lifestyle themed things as well as my usual travel things. I want to open up this blog a little more. Not too much though, as I feel like travel makes up 90% of my personality!

A promise…

Finally, I had reviewed how often I posted last year and I am really regretful it was not a lot more. This blog is my passion and I hope to show it in my posts. I aim to be a lot more consistent this year. Of course, sometimes life does get in the way but I will do my best!

I hope you enjoy this version and thank you for being so patient!

      Thanks Rachel!
Take your time finding a layout you love and then see if you can find it cheaper else where.. 😂 Lots of con artists out there!

Note from the blogger:

Hi everyone, I hope you’re well.

As most of you might know, London is in a second lockdown so I have been unable to travel anywhere.

I’ve decided to take some time and a break from this blog for a while. I have lots of posts lined up, but this time around (lockdown) I’ve decided to focus on getting my travel journal up to scratch. As a perfectionist, this takes me a really long time haha. I’ve created an Insta account if you want to keep up (@ K.journals)

Please enjoy all my current posts and I aim to be back soon!
